The partner of a Tipperary man who died of a brain haemorrhage has launched a High Court challenge in a bid to quash the result of his inquest.
At the time of the inquest mother of five Gwen Bradley said she had no faith in the Irish hospital system.
Evan Morrissey of Fr Meehan Crescent in New Inn began to complain of a very severe headache and nausea on March 2nd, 2014 and was taken by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel where he was diagnosed with migraine and discharged.
An inquest at Cork City Coroner’s Court last April heard that the 28 year old returned to the hospital twice more that month complaining of headaches before being transferred to Cork University Hospital on March 18th.
He subsequently died there on March 22nd.
Evan Morrissey’s partner Gwen Bradley is unhappy over the manner in which the inquest was conducted, and claims the coroner limited the scope of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Evan’s death.
Specially, she claims the inquest was not conducted in accordance with the law.
Gwen Bradley is seeking an order quashing the verdict of the inquest.
Permission to bring the action was granted, on an ex parte basis, by Mr. Justice Seamus Noonan.
The case will come back before the court in October.
