Tipperary TUI members stage lunchtime protest

Members of the Teachers Union of Ireland are holding lunchtime protests at schools in Tipperary and nationwide today over pay inequality.

They’re calling for equal pay for equal work for all teachers.

The Government have threatened to freeze the pay increments agreed upon last year, which kicked in January, should teachers take industrial action.

However, Vice President of the TUI Seamus Lahart of Colaiste Dun Iascaigh in Cahir is warning the TUI may have to consider it unless the government deals with the issue.
