Tipperary solicitor backs use of guns to protect against criminals

People are entitled to protect themselves in their own homes – according to a prominent Tipperary solicitor.

Kieran Cleary has echoed Councillor David Doran’s calls from earlier this week – for people to fight ‘fire with fire’ when it comes to rural crime.

Speaking on Tipp Today this morning, he said guns will frighten intruders off.

Kieran Cleary represented the Corcoran family who were subjected to a terrifying armed raid on their home near Killenaule in 2013.

He is of the view that it’s better to defend yourself and go to trial, than to put your own life on the line.
