Tipperary resident promoted in Defence Forces

A Tipperary resident has been promoted to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff Designate in the Defence Forces.

Colonel Anthony McKenna is originally from Dundalk in County Louth but now lives in Cahir.

He is currently serving as Director of Infantry Corps in the Defence Forces Training Centre at the Curragh Camp.

He joined the defence forces in 1981 and will take up his new post early next month.
