Following a meeting of the county football committee last night, they unanimously agreed to recommend Philly Ryan as the new manager.

The Clonmel Commercials club man, who served as Tipp minor manager in 2007 & 2008, takes charge following the departure of Paul Kelly back in June.

Ryan, who played in goals for Tipperary from 1990 to 2003, will be joined on his management team by Paul Cahill of Grangemockler/Ballyneale and JK Brackens’ Cathal Naughton with the remainder of the backroom team to be finalised in the coming weeks.

The new management team will now be put before the next County Committee meeting where their term of 3 years with a review at the end of year 2 will be ratified.
