Gardaí in Tipperary are warning people to be wary of a lotto text scam doing the rounds.

They’ve received reports today of a number of people receiving similar texts which contain a link to a website.

The message is said to look quite convincing as it also contains the person’s name and the area that they’re in.

In a statement to Tipp FM News, the National Lottery say the messages have not been sent by them and they would never send texts asking for personal information.

You’re being urged not to click the link if you do get it.
