Tipperary disabity workers have joined an indefinite strike against the Citizens Information Board and the Department of Social Protection.
The strike comes in response to a Labour court ruling in favour of pay parity for the National Advocacy Service earlier this year but the workers believe the CIB is still refusing to implement these recommendations.
The picketers will continue their strike outside their Thurles office, the Mall House tomorrow morning.
Disability Advocate Anna Fox says their board won’t stand by their word over the Labour courts decision.
“Initially, we went on strike on June 12th. At about 3 o’clock that day, we got an email stating that they were willing to implement those recommendations from the Labour Court ruling and there would be talks.
“Unfortunately, when the talks commenced, it was clear from the very beginning that they were not going to accept any of the recommendations.”
