Tipperary County Council has approved a ‘Section 5’ planning exemption for a second property in Thurles.
It’s emerged that an application to bypass the planning regulations has been approved for a location on Friar St.

We had confirmation earlier this week that a ‘Section 5’ had been granted for a former furniture showrooms on Mitchell St in the town to be turned into an IPAS centre for asylum seekers.
The developer Rosendale Property Limited in Carrick-on-suir says it’s intended that Ukrainian refugees will be housed at this new site.
