Tipperary have won a dramatic Daryl Darcy Cup final in Thurles.
The home side had the better of things in the first half of the Munster Championship Phase 1 decider and led by two at the break 0-06 to 0-04.
The Banner then came back strongly in the second half building up a three-point at one stage in FBD Semple Stadium.
The Premier needed two late points at the end of normal time to draw it 0-12 apiece to send it to extra time.
A goal from a penalty by Dylan McCormack was needed to keep it level at half time in extra time 1-14 each.
But the Tipp lads finally pulled away with a free from Ned O’Meara and a final point from play by Killian Smith who’d just come off the bench.
Full Time Tipperary: 1-16(19) Clare: 1-14(17)
It’s the second dramatic late win over the same opposition in just over a week but this one secures the Daryl Darcy Cup which is named in honour of the former Tipp footballer who died in a road crash in 2008.
