Tipp students march on Dublin over DEIS exclusion

Pupils and teachers from a number of Tipperary schools are to protest at the Department of Education in Dublin this afternoon.

A delegation of over 140 pupils from the five Primary Schools in Tipp Town along with their principals, teachers and parents will highlight their exclusion from the DEIS scheme.

The scheme – which aims to address educational disadvantage – was initially introduced in 2005.

It was reviewed this year but none of the primary schools in Tipp town were included.
