The Tipperary senior footballers are in must-win territory today.
Philly Ryan’s side play their final Tailteann Cup group game against Leitrim in TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar at 1.45pm.
The Premier need to win the game and better the score difference of the winner of the Antrim vs London game to earn a place in the preliminary quarter-finals.
Anthony Shelly from the Tipp backroom team says they will just have to worry about themselves before looking at anything else today:
“First and foremost you have to go win the game, after that it’s that old saying when you’re involved in teams, ‘control the controlables’.
“You have no control over what goes on elsewhere so go, put on you big boy pants, go win the game and maybe with twenty minutes to go we might need Kevin Hanly or someone coming down and giving us the updates on what’s needed or how the other games are going but first and foremost it’s about winning the game ourselves.”
We’ll have full live commentary of today’s game with thanks to Tipperary County Council’s road safety campaign.
