Householders in Tipperary are being urged to be extra vigilant this Christmas as burglars could be targeting homes.
According to the latest figures burglaries are up 1% this year in the Premier County with non aggravated burglaries up 23% in the Thurles District.

Inspector James White from Thurles Garda Station is advising people to make sure security lighting is working properly and alarms are set.
