Tipperary farmers will take to the streets of Dublin tomorrow to highlight their opposition to EU plans to allow increased volumes of beef to be brought into the EU from South America.
They are particularly concerned at the lack of controls in place regarding beef production in Brazil claiming records show they are not capable of meeting EU standards.
Farmers will protest outside the EU offices in Dublin from 11.30 tomorrow morning before marching to the Dáil to hand in a letter at 1.30.
South Tipp IFA Livestock chairman Denis Large says the agreement between the European Commission and Mercosur countries has the potential to decimate the beef industry here.
