Tipp Councillor says hospital patients are “being treated like animals”

Ongoing overcrowding problems at University Hospital Limerick is leading to people being treated like animals.

The comments from Nenagh based Councillor John Carroll come as the hospital is once again the most overcrowded in the country with 49 patients without a bed today.

Councillor Carroll is also a member of the Regional Health Forum West.

He says despite spending millions on a new Emergency Department in Limerick people are still not getting a proper health service.

Meanwhile there are 34 patients without a bed at South Tipp General in Clonmel today while the INMO is reporting 578 on trollies across the country.
