Threat to jobs at key Tipperary employer

There are fears for multiple jobs at a longstanding South Tipperary based company.

The Dáil’s been told that staff at SNC Lavalin – formerly Kentz – in Clonmel have been told that they are facing compulsory redundancies in the coming weeks.

The global engineering and construction business – which was founded in the South Tipp town over 90 years ago – operates around the globe and employs up to 50 people at its base in Clonmel.

Local Independent TD Mattie McGrath who raised the issue in Leinster House says staff were hit with bad news without warning.
