A second protest will be held early next week in relation to concerns about road conditions in North Tipp.
This week, over 30 local people gathered for a peaceful protest on the Roran road in Terryglass in an effort to highlight the state of roads in the area.
A public meeting was held in the area last night to decide on the strategy they will follow to get action on what they say are the structural deficits and failures on the 1.7 kilometre stretch of road.
Locals say that the current condition of the road is too dangerous for them to drive, with many taking elaborate detours in order to avoid it.
They also say that the state of the roads is having an adverse affect on the tourism Industry in Terryglass, as the road forms part of the Tipperary Cycle route, which draws thousands to the area each year.
Over 40 residents assembled in Terryglass Village Hall last night to discuss their strategy going forward.
The group has agreed a planned course of demonstration and action, the first of which will be a protest outside Tipperary County Council offices in Nenagh this Monday between noon and 1pm.
Their action is being supported by local Councillors, many of whom also attended last nights meeting.
