A Tipperary business was among sixteen to have enforcement orders issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland in July.

The River House Café on Castle Street in Cahir had the 24 hour closure order issued due to persistent and recurring failure to comply with legislation.

Evidence of non-compliance reported by the FSAI included storage of food at incorrect temperatures and that the thawing of food had not been carried out safely.

There was a lack of adequate, regular, and thorough cleaning particularly in the cooking and storage areas that had also identified during previous inspections.

The closure order for the River House Café was issued on July 15th and lifted the following day.

The other food outlets were in Dublin and Roscommon.
