Gardaí investigating the murder of Tipperary man Conor Quinn believe a suspect they are anxious to speak with about the killing is now in the UK.
24 year old Conor from Kilshane near Tipp Town had been living in the North Cork area of late.
Gardaí in Mallow have been appealing for a 21 year old local man to get in touch with them in relation to the incident – however it’s understood he has fled Ireland.
They are liaising with British police in an effort to locate him.
It’s understood Gardaí have also viewed CCTV footage of the assault which happened on Bridge Street in Mallow at around 8.30pm last Thursday.
It shows Conor Quinn pulling up in a car and following a short conversation he was fatally stabbed and the suspect fled on foot.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Conor Quinn will be laid to rest tomorrow morning following 10.30 Mass in St Michael’s Church in Tipp Town.
