Plans have been lodged for the development of another solar farm in the Premier County.
This latest application is from Dublin based company ‘Power Capital Renewable Energy Ltd’ who already have projects in a number of areas including Carlow, Laois, Kilkenny and Wexford.
Their latest proposal is for a 37 acre site at Cauteen, Donohill.
The company are seeking a 10 year permission for an 8 Megawatt solar farm which would include 8 transformer stations and around 40,000 solar panels.
The council have already given the green light to three similar projects in the county – two in the Cahir area and one near Clonmel.
Separately, an application for a 140 acre solar farm near Roscrea is currently undergoing the planning process, while another development near Carrick on Suir is with An Bord Pleanala.
