Social farming programme to be expanded in Tipperary

The initiative gives people with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues a chance to spend one day per week working on a farm.

Over 12 weeks, the participant integrates with suitable farm families, improving their social skills and developing their sense of community.

Farmers who are selected for the programme are given full training and compensation for their time.

Social farming development officer, Paul Kidd, says it’s really beneficial for the participants.

All are welcome to attend the social farming information meeting on this evening at the Moorehaven Centre in Tipp Town at 7.30pm.
