A number of motorists had a lucky escape after rocks were dropped onto their vehicles from flyovers on the M7 near Nenagh overnight.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the attacks.
An ambulance, three trucks and a 4-wheel drive were targeted between 12.30 and 1am on the motorway between Birdhill and Nenagh.
None of the occupants suffered serious injuries.
Michael was one of the motorists hit.
Two Tipperary based paramedics were also caught up in the attacks – it’s understood they had dropped a patient off at University Hospital Limerick and were returning to Roscrea.
As they approached the flyover near Birdhill a rock was dropped onto the vehicle and came through the windscreen.
The occupants of all the vehicles targeted in the attacks were thankfully were not seriously injured.
Michael says the whole incident left him shaken.
Gardai from Nenagh carried out a search of the area.
Sgt. Declan O’Carroll told Tipp FM they located a suspect vehicle a short time later and arrested 6 individuals – 2 juveniles and 4 in their late teens and early 20’s.
They are said to be from the North Tipp and Clare areas – three of those arrested have been charged with a file to be prepared for the DPP.
