Members of the Fine Gael party in Tipperary are welcoming the appointment of Simon Coveney as Táiniste.
It comes following the resignation of Frances Fitzgerald from the role to prevent a general election – due to her role in the Maurice McCabe scandal.

In the recent party leadership contest, Simon Coveney won the popular vote amongst members across the country – while winning 85% of the vote in Tipperary.
