Significant decrease in claims to the PIAB

News

26,009 new claims were dealt with by the Personal Injuries Assessment Board last year.

According to their annual report for 2020, 216 of these were in Tipperary

Nationally there was a 16 per cent decrease in awards which have halved since new guidelines were introduced in April.

€206 million worth of compensation was given out to accident victims with the average award in 2020 just over €24,000.
