Sharlene Mawdsley is returning to competitive racing this weekend.
The Newport native will represent Ireland at the European Team Athletics Championships in Slovenia on Sunday.

It will be the Olympians first time in competition since the untimely passing of her father Thomas earlier this month.
Mawdsley posted on social media last night to confirm her involvement saying it was a last minute decision.
The Tipperary woman will be in action on Sunday evening in the Mixed 4x400m event.
