A High Court action in relation to the death of a young Tipperary mother has been settled for €800,000.
Nicola Kenny from Kennedy Park in Thurles died when a truck crashed into a car in which she was a rear seat passenger in 2016.
The 26 year old was on her way to see her day old baby daughter who had been transferred from South Tipp General to Temple Street in Dublin.
The car had pulled into the hard shoulder of the M8 to take a phone call from the hospital about baby Lily-Rose when a lorry approaching from behind collided with it, sending it down a grass embankment and killing the young woman instantly.
In the High Court yesterday Mr Justice Kevin Cross approved a settlement of €800,000 for the family, including Lily Rose who is now four.
They were made against the owners of the truck Castlekeeran Transport Ltd of Kells, Co Meath and the driver Ciaran McBride of Keady, Co Armagh.
