The draw for the County Senior Hurling semi-finals has thrown up two fantastic pairings.
Moycarkey Borris have been pitted against Toomevara – that will be played on Saturday 28th in Semple Stadium at 4.45pm
Then on Sunday 29th at 4 o’clock in Semple Thurles Sarsfields face Loughmore Castleiney.
Hurling analyst – and Loughmore Castleiney stalwart – Tom McGrath gave his reaction on last night’s Extra Time here on Tipp FM.
“There’s three teams left besides yourself – you have to beat two of them to win Dan Breen. The reality was that Moycarkey and Sars couldn’t play in the semi-final because they were in the same group. We’re going to be playing Sarsfields and Sarsfields knew themselves…they’re probably going to be equally chuffed with the draw as well.
“Moycarkey and Toom people will be chuffed as well – they’ve got a serious prize for wins. Four teams won quarter-finals, they have to win semi-finals now and then you win a final and you get your big prize at the end of that.”
The Premier Intermediate semi-finals have Upperchurch Drombane versus Cashel King Cormacs as the curtain raiser on the Saturday in Semple while on Sunday Gortnahoe Glengoole go up against Carrick Swan.
The Intermediate semi-finals also take place on Sunday 29th with Golden Kilfeacle and Ballingarry meeting in Cashel while Moneygall and Cappawhite go head-to-head at the Ragg.
