SEMRA assist in airlifting injured walker from the Comeragh Mountains

The Tipperary based South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association were called into action on the Comeragh Mountains yesterday.

They were tasked by the National Ambulance Service shortly before 1.30pm to assist with the evacuation of an injured walker at Coumshingaun.

Coast Guard helicopter R117 was also called out.

SEMRA team members made their way to the walkers location and assisted the Coast Guard winchman to move them, a short distance, to a location better for winching.

The walker was winched into R117 and on the way to University Hospital Waterford shortly after 3pm.
