Semple Stadium residents meet to discuss parking problems

A large crowd gathered for a public meeting last night about ongoing parking issues around Semple Stadium on match days.

In particular the issues lie around National League and club games – when there isn’t a large Garda presence around the area.

Supporters are said to be parking in driveways, and blocking access to homes.

It was agreed at the meeting that a member from each of the Parks would go to meet with Gardaí and GAA to see if an agreement can be reached.

Cllr Jim Ryan also attended, and he says the group aren’t anti-GAA, they just want a compromise to ensure people park safely..
