Water should be returning today to all areas affected by a major outage in Tipperary yesterday.
It had been feared that 3,000 local homes and businesses on the Galtee Regional Supply could be without water for the weekend.
The disruption was due to an issue at a pump station and a separate major burst on a trunk main on the network.
Uisce Éireann initially claimed that the repair of the complex trunk water main was an intricate job which would take longer than usual and it was feared the outages would continue over the weekend.
Water Tankers were made available in the villages of Emly and Lattin and will be in place until full supply is restored.
However the company was nearing completion of the repair work last night.
Even though the repairs went well it is expected that full pressure will only return for some users through the day today.
