We’re being warned to prepare for the worst that the Beast from the East and Storm Emma have to throw at us.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Red snow and ice alert for Tipperary which will come into force tomorrow afternoon and continue into Friday.
All schools in Tipperary are to close tomorrow and Friday
The highest possible weather alert has been issued for Tipperary as Storm Emma bears down on Ireland – this combined with the Beast from the East is likely to lead to blizzard like conditions tomorrow.
As a result Met Eireann has issued a Status Red weather warning for the Premier County along with all other counties in Munster and Leinster.
It comes into force at 4pm tomorrow afternoon and continues until midday on Friday.

Tipperary County Council’s Severe Weather Team is meeting at present to discuss their preparations for the coming days and to review their response to this mornings snow.
Early morning commuters were met with treacherous conditions in parts of the Premier County today.
The M7 and M8 were particularly bad with the area north of Cashel worst hit.
There’s a status orange warning in place for Tipperary at present with scattered heavy snow showers continuing today, tonight and tomorrow with further accumulations.
A number of schools in Tipperary were forced to close today due to the weather conditions.
The weather has also had a severe impact on health services.
South Tipperary General Hospital has announced that all Outpatient Clinics and Elective Surgery will be cancelled on Thursday and Friday.
Patients whose appointments are cancelled will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Emergency Services will continue to be provided.
It’s a similar situation at Waterford University Hospital whch has cancelled all non-urgent activity including Outpatient Clinics and elective surgery for today, Thursday and Friday.
Nenagh District Court has cancelled sittings for Thursday and Friday.
