It’s hoped further progress will be made on a new fire station for Borrisokane in the coming months.
It follows the purchase of a site in the town by Tipperary County Council adjacent to the current base.

The existing station was built in the 1960’s and has minimal training facilities for fire officers on site – with no training room or yard – while some equipment is housed in a shed out the back of the building.
While its in the early stages Councillor Michael O’Meara says the very fact the council has purchased the site is significant.
