Former Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett has been heavily criticised for an advertising campaign at his Thurles bar, offering alcoholic drinks for as little as 99 cent.

The deals are being advertised as part a Black Friday offer but have sparked anger among campaigners for responsible drinking.

Drink Aware has issued a statement saying it is hugely concerned by the promotion and that it has no place in our society.
