Progress being made on Tipperary CCTV system

The CEO of Tipperary County Council has promised that a new policy on CCTV use in the county will be finished by the end of the year.

There’s been repeated calls for more cameras to prevent crime, anti-social behaviour and illegal dumping.

But there are issues with privacy regulations and whether footage can be used in prosecutions.

Joe McGrath says a lot of work has had to go into this policy document but it’s nearly finished.
