Player welfare concerns raised again

The issue of player welfare is again raising it’s head in the GAA.

It comes as many of Tipp’s inter-county players are playing league, as well as college Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cup games.

Kerry’s David Clifford – in his first year of college in Tralee IT, played 3 games in 7 days, resulting in a hamstring injury.

While Clare footballer Ciaran Russell played 6 games in 12 days – but fatigue took hold during the final game and he was taken off at half time.
