Planning Permissions are up in Tipperary

Planning permissions in Tipperary have risen by 34% in the second quarter of 2017.

This compared with a 42% jump nationally according to the CSO.

Latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show Tipperary County Council granted planning for 59 dwellings between April and the end of June this year.

The compares with 44 for the first quarter of 2017 – an increase of 34%.

34 of the houses or apartments granted in Tipperary in the second quarter were in the north of the county while 25 were in South Tipp.

Year on year there’s an even more marked increase – up 68% from the second quarter of 2016.

Nationally planning permissions for 4,453 homes were granted through April, May and June this year – up from 3,141 for the same period last year – that’s an increase of over 41%

Once-off houses accounted for 28% of all new units in the second quarter.
