People asked to avoid Limerick Hospital and use Nenagh

The public are being asked to make use of the injury unit in Nenagh, as hospital delays continue in Limerick and Clonmel.

Nenagh Injury Unit is open 7 days a week from 8 to 8 and can treat patients aged 5 and over.

A wide variety of injuries can be treated here, such as broken bones, dislocations, sprains ,strains, and minor burns.

The unit is staffed by Consultant led teams of doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, radiographers and physiotherapists.

Patients can go directly to the Unit or be referred by a GP.

Dr Damien Ryan, Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Nenagh Injury Unit says patients will be treated much quicker there:
