The OPW Minister is to visit Tipperary in the coming weeks to see first hand the need to extend the opening season of the Swiss Cottage in Cahir.

Minister Kevin “Boxer” Moran was accused of not supporting tourism in the county at this months meeting of the Borough District.

There have been appeals to have the Swiss Cottage in Cahir open later this season – it’s due to close on November 1st

Locals had hoped that this could be extended but Minister Moran said this wasn’t possible due to budget and staffing levels.

However Deputy Mattie McGrath says he has agreed to come to Cahir – unfortunately the Swiss Cottage won’t be open by the time he visits.
