Protestors opposed to works at St Patrick’s cemetery have gathered outside the offices of Tipperary County Council in Clonmel.

The Council has commenced construction at the site, despite concerns from local residents that it would negatively affect those attending the cemetery.

Plans to block cars from entering the cemetery were initially proposed back in 2015 but, due to public outcry, they were shelved until now.

The proposed plans will create a car park adjacent to the site, limiting vehicular access to the cemetery, drawing frustration from those with limited mobility who feel they would have difficulty accessing the graves of their loved ones.

These protestors were adamant in their opposition to the works.
