No joy for Mawdsley in 400 metre repechage

Tipperary’s Sharlene Mawdsley has unfortunately failed to progress from the repechage in the Women’s 400 metres at the Olympics.

The Newport athlete finished 3rd in a time of 51.18 with just the winner going on to the semi-finals

Ireland’s Sophie Becker just missed out finishing second in her repechage in 51.28

Both will be back on Friday in the heats of the women’s 4x400m relay.
