A new book on Tipperary hurling launches this week.
Tipperary – Land of Blue and Gold looks at past glories in the the Premier County, featuring names such as Nicky English, Donie Nealon, Bobby Ryan and Bubbles O’Dwyer.
Local broadcaster and author Stephen Gleeson penned the book, which is available in shops this week.
He told Tipp Today earlier about the thought process behind the book:
“It’s the story going back through time of Tipperary hurling since the formation.
“We delve the whole way back in the book from Tubberadora right up to the present day and what the future holds as well.
“There’s always ups and downs with every sporting team and this is no different.
“This book tries to capture a flavour of what hurling means to people.”
The book launch takes place in the Horse and Jockey hotel in Thurles this Saturday night at 8pm.
