Nenagh Ormond recorded an historic victory over Limerick’s Garryowen last evening to win the Limerick Charity Cup Final.

It was Nenagh’s first time to appear in the final – having had to overcome the calibre of teams such as Shannon and UL Bohs during a strong campaign.

Garryowen, who feature in division 1A of the Ulster Bank League, were favourites going into the game – however John Long’s side overcame the odds last night at the Market’s Field in Limerick – as the UBL Division 2B side beat the favourites by the finest of margins..

It finished up Nenagh Ormond RFC 25 points, Garryowen FC 24.
