The April Tipp FM Sports Star of the month has been announced.

Nenagh Ormond’s senior mens rugby team have won the award after they made history last month.

The North Tipp men beat UCC in dramatic fashion in their AIL Division 1B playoff final to become the first team ever from Tipperary to qualify for the top tier of club rugby in the country.

They will now receive a specially crafted piece from Quirke Trophies Ltd which will be presented at next year’s annual awards ceremony at the Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.
