The Fianna Fáil leader has again ruled out forming a coalition government with Sinn Féin.

Micheál Martin made the comments to Tipp FM on a tour of Tipperary South with General Election candidate Imelda Goldsboro over the weekend.

He says the policies and proposals being put forward by Mary Lou McDonald simply won’t work and are at odds with what Fianna Fáil wants and the country needs.

“I think Sinn Féin is not a pro-enterprise party. I think they would endanger the economic model we have in this country – I don’t think they believe in it.

“I think their housing policy falls short on a number of fronts – in fact the Sinn Féin housing policy would delay and disrupt and lead to in my view a reduced number of houses being built because they intend to transform completely the Land Development Agency which we’re going to capitalise even further . and why would you have that disruption now given that it has thousands of houses within its remit to build.”
