Michael Lowry’s Regional Group have had their controversial first speaking time slot in the Dáil.
The row over the Independent TDs who did a deal to support the coalition but still wanted to be able to question government Ministers dragged on for almost four months and culminated in the confidence vote in the Ceann Comhairle last night.

Their first allocated time under new standing orders came up in the Dáil today.
The Thurles TD wasn’t there but Carol Nolan from Offaly used the time to question the Taoiseach about special needs allocations for schools in her constituency.
