Medallion of Excellence for young Tipp woman at WorldSkills finals

Tipperary’s Kate Ryan was among the Irish medal winners at the WorldSkills event in France.

They secured five Medallions of Excellence across five different categories in Lyon.

Kate – from Boherlahan and a student at Shannon College of Hotel Management – was honoured in the Restaurant Service category.

The World Skills competition saw over 1,500 competitors from more than 71 countries and regions around the world demonstrate their skills across 62 skills areas.

Taoiseach Simon Harris says he couldn’t be prouder of Team Ireland for their performances against the world’s best in Lyon.
