Many areas in Premier county well above national unemployment average

Figures showing Carrick on Suir and parts of Tipperary town as unemployment blackspots are being described as just the tip of the iceberg.

The CSO has released details from Census 2016 which reveal that there is an unemployment rate of 34% in the Eastern part of Tipp Town while in Carrick it’s over 29%.

However Independent TD Seamus Healy says many areas in the Premier County are well above the national average of 12.9%.
