A man of conviction and charm –FF Leader on Des Hanafin.

The Fianna Fáil leader has described the late Des Hanafin as a man of great conviction and charm.

Micheál Martin is among many who continue to pay tribute to the Thurles native who passed away this week at the age of 86.

Thousands of people are expected to descend on the Mid Tipp town this evening to pay their last respects to him

Des was a member of the Seanad for nearly three decades and was also party fundraiser for Fianna Fáil.

During that time Micheál Martin said that he made many friendships around Leinster House.
