Major clean-up operation continues in Premier County

27 crews from Tipperary County Council have been working since first light to clear the debris from Ophelia.

The storm left major destruction in its wake across the county with many roads blocked by fallen trees and downed power lines.

Most major routes have since been cleared although a number of minor roads still have some problems.

County Secretary Ger Walsh says they got to work as quickly as it was safe to do so.
