Locals in the Lower Ormond area feel that the county’s rural roads have been abandoned by Tipperary County Council – and that the poor conditions are having an impact on businesses.

Dozens of people gathered in Aglish Hall this week to raise their concerns over the state of local roads in the area.

One of the organisers, Patrick Hogan, says the frustration has been going back 30 to 40 years.

Speaking in Tipp Today earlier he said the representation from Tipperary and Offaly county councils didn’t exist, and that their area bore the brunt.
