Loughmore-Castleiney claim Tipperary County Senior Hurling title after dramatic final in Thurles

Loughmore/Castleiney have won the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship after a dramatic finish at FBD Semple Stadium.

They beat Toomevara 2-19 to 1-17 in the decider scoring two goals in the closing minutes to seal the game despite a late goal from Toome’s Conor O’Meara raising a green flag to bring them within two points as the game reached it’s climax.

It the fifth title for Loughmore/Castleiney thanks in no small part to 1-13 haul from man of the match John McGrath.

The Mid-Tipp side are on track for a third senior hurling and football double in 11 years with a football final still to come against Clonmel Commercials next Sunday.
